Job DescriptionA Health & Safety Officer oversees the planning, creation and implementation of the occupational health and safety program of our oil palm plantation in order to provide a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and to prevent work-related injuries and/or accidents. A Health & Safety Officer must ensure that the Company complies with the law and regulations in regards to health and safety, and will work with the TQM Coordinator to ensure we have a sustainable practice and worker-friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect workplace to investigate accidents, cause of ill-health and formulate a plan of action to correct any non-compliant behaviour or work condition
- Monitor workplace to improve health and safety standards
- Have constant dialogue with managers and employees to implement and maintain a safe working environment
- Identify safety training needs, organize and coordinate safety training briefings and prepare training materials if necessary
- Work with managers to create an emergency/contingency plan
- Develop an OSH Plan
- Develop a PPE program
- Acts as a liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, including NREB, DOE, DOSH, etc.
